New Display: The Wonderful World Underwater

Much of life underwater remains a mystery…

The Wonderful World Underwater tells the story of the ocean through documentaries and narrative films. From comedies such as Finding Dory to controversial films like Blackfish, this display is sure to spark curiosity about life underwater. Marine mammals are highlighted through the story of an orca named Luna in The Whale and the exposure of unethical dolphin hunting practices in The Cove. Threats to the ocean are emphasized in The End of the Line, a documentary that examines the effects of overfishing, and A Sea Change: Imagine a World Without Fish brings to light the devastating consequences of ocean acidification.

This collection showcases the awe-inspiring creatures that live within our ocean and explores the fragility that its ecosystems face.
